Toño Benavides

(León, Spain, 1961)

He started as a cartoonist and very soon he opted for book and press illustration. In 1989 he moved to Madrid and since then he has published different works in Diario 16, El Mundo, The New York Times and El economista. His style, characterized by elegance and expressive synthesis, is well-known by most of the Spanish publishing industry. He has been awarded several prizes by the Society for News Design (SND), including four silver medals and a gold one for his publications in El Mundo. He is also author of important marketing campaigns and the volume of texts and illustrations Paraíso (2009).
