Alberto Vázquez

(A Coruña, Spain, 1980)

A regular contributor as press illustrator in El País Semanal and in national and international press, he combines this activity with the illustration of books and comics. Alberto has contributed to anthologies and fanzines all over the world, such as Pictoplasma, Nosotros somos los muertos, Stripburguer, Fanzine Enfermo, Tos etc., Ragú, Cábula, Dos veces breve... As a comic artist he has published four albums and has won several awards such as Best Design in the Salón Internacional del Cómic in Barcelona, of the Best Script award for Diario de Avisos. His latest comic, El evangelio de Judas, has recently been published in France and he is now preparing an animated film adaptation of his previous comic Psiconautas. He has directed the short Birdboy, also based on one of his characters. As an illustrator he has written a new biography of Edgar Allan Poe in collaboration with the writer Jordi Serra i Fabra, and also some children’s books. His works have been showed in exhibitions in Buenos Aires, La Paz, Naples, Barcelona and Ourense, among other cities.
